LEGO Express: LEGO & DUPLO For Kids In Need →
legoexpress:
Want to help less fortunate kids discover the joy of LEGO? I’m trying to raise $200 to buy LEGO & DUPLO bricks for children at The Family Place, a local family violence shelter here in Dallas, Texas.
The Family Place has been around for over 30 years and gets three of four stars on …

Spiritual Universality
There is a pretty simple spectrum of religious acceptance in the world. On one end, we have Exclusivism, where a person adamantly believes they are on the only correct path to salvation and well-being. At the other end is Pluralism, where a person will at least consider all faiths and ideas they encounter with an open-mind. In between is Inclusivism, where a person doesn’t deny other...

It really saddens me how people don’t ask “How are you doing?” Is it really so hard? Asking this question can help you grow and be more compassionate. Why is the “self” always so front and center?

What happened to real music?
My roommate was watching a copy of the 2011 Grammys and right after Arcade Fire won Album of the Year (which excites me still), they went on to play a song. After about a minute of play I was singing and having a good time. Apparently I was the only one interested in real music, as he shut it off immediately. I protested quickly to which he replied, “You actually like that?”

Digital textbook crack. Turn DAISY into any...
I’m dyslexic, don’t pity or judge. It seems to surprise most people.
This means that when I go to school, I am guaranteed digital texts so i can read on a computer program. Assistive technology. There is one book format called DAISY which uses a program called EasyReader on a computer. I got it through a popular digital textbook website which many campuses use. When I write...

My roommate downloaded Oprah… A guy…
I really can’t wrap my head around this. He has never used the word “fabulous” in my presence. He likes ‘Cops’ and UFC fights. Why the FUUUUUUCK would he ever think that Oprah would be some fun viewing.
Next, I know she is a philanthropist, I know she has done good in the world. What I can’t understand is...

Google + Art = "Sure I'll check it out." →
Google has “Street-Viewed” a few galleries in museums around the world. You can browse around some very cool 3-D museums complete with a few extremely high resolution images of a few choice pieces.
I can’t wait to see what museums get “begoogled.”

I have probably stared at this too long.
Lately I have actually been dreaming of having a simpler phone. I have a blackberry, and while its great and useful, I could just have a flip phone. I wouldn’t be able to tweet or facebook on the go. It sounds so wonderful.
Oh to be disconnected!

I love and hate hearing athletes being interviewed. The generic sports talk during games is so unbearable.
“You know, we just have to make the yards, get it up the field and get it in the endzone. Thats how you win, so thats what we have to do…”
During the Super Bowl tomorrow, if you watch the game at all, listen to what they say. It will most likely be something close to...
The breaker that powers my bedroom has tripped. Somehow, after 20 minutes of fiddling and pondering, I accepted how my night was going to be. Now I lay in candlelight and a warmish bed.
Some things are not worth freaking out about.
