Recognition
Yesterday I got my first recognition from the public as far as my artwork goes. Two people bought my fuctional, funky glazed bowls. I even had a conversation with a woman who bought a bowl and loved the combo of glazes on it. Its so nice to have some public (and monetary) praise!

America! Fuck yeah!!
I woke up to a wonderful speech by Obama followed by the signing of the health care bill.  It is wonderful to hear I’ll be covered until I turn 27!  Its the first time I’ve been glad to live in this country for some time.

A Long-time Mac Lover Goes Insane.
In 2004 I bought my first Mac.  The computer that got me wrapped around its little finger with simplicity and beauty.  I joined the mac community, and was honestly depressed when I saw I needed to have a PC for my school. In 2007 I got a new computer, a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Windows XP.  The thing got slow and weathered after a year and a half, so I decided to try Ubuntu.  I ultimately could...

Pottery and the creation of society
I love to work with clay and create things people love (if they like it).  It is a very primal art form which evolved slowly over time with its foundations in necessity.  Pottery was instrumental in the growth of agriculture.  Making containers out of clay allowed pre-Mesopotamian farmers to store grain, and therefore settle in the Fertile Crescent and harvest grains and begin to build cities. I...

Artist Statement
In my art I am very interested in the balance of function and aesthetic. Wonderful aesthetic can be a part of any piece with a slight alteration of the structure, some strategic use of texture or just letting the clay be clay. I enjoy using these techniques in my pottery as I continue striving for the perfect balance of function and aesthetic, even though that perfection is unattainable. Once I...

Verdict
Okay Tumblr… you win…  Twitter sucks, you can’t find anyone who cares about what you post.  Tumblr is fast becoming a corner stone of my internet experience.  I’m home!
